Memphis


Memphis is probably best known for being the home of Elvis Presley, but there is much more to this Tennessee city than just being the home of the King of Rock and Roll - although as a visitor you will find that many of the top tourist attractions in town are related in some way to his life.

Whether you are visiting Memphis for business or pleasure, it is important to try and fit at least some sight seeing in during your visit, as there really is a lot to see and do while you are in the city. From the outstanding music scene that offers you the chance to see top local acts through to the traditional dinner clubs where you can see tributes to Elvis from all over the world.

Of course, Memphis, with its sultry summer weather is a great place to visit throughout the year, and there are plenty of events in the social calendar that make it such a superb destination. From the celebrations of the life of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Junior that take place on the anniversary of his death each April through to the big summer events commemorating the live of Elvis and independence Day, you will find that no matter when you visit Memphis, there is likely to be some kind of celebration going on that will improve your stay.

When you travel to Memphis, you will notice that there is a lot to see and do, and thanks to the sheer number of people who travel to the city throughout the year due to the whole Elvis thing, Attractions such as Graceland get extremely busy throughout the year, and in order to get the most out of your visit, you should try and choose a quiet day on which to see the sights, or at least get there as early as possible - this will give you more time to enjoy the experience before the biggest of the crowds arrive.
